Campaigning Organisations
All Under One Banner AUOB organises Independence marches and rallies throughout Scotland and these are always hugely enjoyable and well organised. See the dates below for 2026:
Christians for Independence is a nation-wide organisation of people from all branches of the Christian Church; it is not affiliated to any political party. We aim to show Christians that belief in independence is completely compatible with the teachings of Christ, and that Christians can and should be involved in the political action necessary for Scotland to regain independence. CFI is an active member of several umbrella independence organisations. We hold regular meetings, talks and other events, take part in marches and rallies, and publish leaflets and booklets. We post regularly on social media. We want a Scotland where the Christian values of compassion and kindness prevail, along with justice, equality, and prosperity for all. Click for Facebook, Website and you can contact us at christiansforindependence@gmail.com.
Believe in Scotland Believe in Scotland is a campaigning organisation for Independence, effectively a coalition of affiliated grassroots Yes Groups. It exists to reach out to undecided voters and to help coordinate, fund and support the needs of the grassroots Yes movement on a local and national level. Believe in Scotland is probably best known for its publication Scotland the Brief (in partnership with Business for Scotland), which makes the economic case for Scottish independence.
Salvo Salvo is the campaigning arm of Liberation Scotland. “We are dedicated to restoring Scotland’s national, constitutional and historic rights as set out in our interim constitution. Our mission is to bring the Scottish people together again and awaken them to the fact that Scotland’s constitutional future is not dependant on any political deal with a Westminster government. Instead, we will make them aware of the Claim of Right, which was not destroyed by the Treaty of Union but was a critical part of the UK’s creation and remains the lawful guarantee of Scotland’s deliberately hidden constitution.”
The Declaration of a Sovereign Scot In an ongoing series of Stages, with the active participation of Yes Groups from all over Scotland, it involves obtaining individual signatures to a Declaration which reads: “Exercising my Claim Of Right as a Sovereign Scot, I declare: I do not consent to the terms of, nor the continuation of, the Treaty of Union established through the Acts of Union in 1707.” The research involved crucially addresses both domestic and international law (*). Thousands of individually signed Declarations have already been lodged for safe-keeping with the United Nations, (*) and meaningful contact has been established with 18 UN Member States. A copy of each signed Declaration is retained. The Facebook page is X2.

Independence Organisations and think tanks:
Common Weal is a people-powered think and do tank in Scotland. We seek to promote thinking, practice and campaigning on a wide range of social, economic and cultural areas. Some of our biggest issues are social and economic equality, participative democracy, environmental sustainability, wellbeing, quality of life, peace, justice and cooperation.
Constitution for Scotland There is now a reasonable expectation that within this generation Scotland will decide to leave the United Kingdom and once again become independent. We offer you an opportunity to shape the future of Scotland through its Constitution. On our website you can:
comment on our Model Constitution;
propose alternative wording; and,
comment on changes proposed by others.
The Independence Forum The Independence Forum Scotland (IFS) met initially in 2021 as an informal gathering of pro-independence groups, and has since developed into a formal organisation of national and regional groups ( many listed on Yes United website), who meet monthly to discuss issues relating to Scotland’s future independence.
IFS’s triple aims are
(1) to unite the movement
(2) to foster development of a prospectus for a future independent Scotland.
(3) to organise regular Conventions on Scotland’s future, and facilitate the formation of specialist groups to further develop detailed plans for a future independent Scotland.
Liberation is the Liberation Movement connected with Salvo. Join the Scottish Liberation Movement by signing the Edinburgh Proclamation here: https://liberation.scot/EdinburghProclamation-new.html
Manifesto for Independence The Manifesto for Independence was created in 2020 by Geoff Bush and Peter A Bell to pressure pro-independence parties to take concrete steps towards restoring Scotland’s independence by including the Manifesto for Independence in their manifestos for the 2026 election. Read the manifesto and and sign the petition here calling for all Independence parties to include the Manifesto for Independence in their own Manifestos.
National Yes Registry with IndyApp To register, count and network as many of the existing YES supporting majority in Scotland into a highly visible non-party political mass membership. It is time to end the UK gaslighting. Independence is normal and supported by +/- 56% of Scotland’s population, NOT some party political minority interest. Download the IndyApp to be counted and to connect with your local Yes Group today.
Project Arbroath Project Arbroath is a booklet about taking back our lost independence. Its message is: Stop asking for independence. It’s time to take it. Our independence was lost 300 years ago when Scotland was forced into a union with England to create the UK. Do you want to find out how we get it back without asking? Get the Booklet.
Respect Scottish Sovereignty The mission of Respect Scottish Sovereignty (RSS) is to explain and promote Decentralised Direct Democracy, the only governance system compatible with Popular Sovereignty. To that end, we are urging MSPs and the Scottish Administration to implement in full the UN International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR) into Scots law without further delay. ICCPR will give the Scottish People the ability to exercise their UN Human Rights to self-determination and direct political rights. ICCPR will not extend Holyrood’s power, but it will extend the power of the sovereign Scottish People. You can sign the petition here.
Scotland Decides We are a not-for-profit organisation unaligned to any political party. Our purpose is to provide a verifiable and secure voting platform for all people in Scotland to use for the purpose of self-determination. We support grass-roots democracy through the People’s Assembly promoting decision making at community council and local authority level. We endorse the formation of a national convention and can provide video and text information as well as voting up to and including national level. Our system is designed to provide uncontestable results open to scrutiny at every level including a referendum.
Scottish Currency Group Enabling Scotland’s economic and political independence via a full Scottish Currency Plan. A team working towards the introduction of a Scottish Currency ‘as soon as practicable’ after Independence Day including Dr Tim Rideout, who was the author and proposer of Amendment D in the April 2019 SNP Spring Conference.
Scottish Independence Convention The Scottish Independence Convention is a stakeholder organisation for all those who wish to see Scotland be an independent country. It brings together all the independence-supporting political parties (SNP, Scottish Greens, SSP), the national independence-supporting organisations and representatives of local grassroots groups.
Scottish Independence Foundation Unaligned to any political party nor part of any other pro-independence grouping, SIF aims to be a trusted custodian of funds, generated by individual contributions, large and small, channelling them, without prejudice, into projects which will benefit the movement. SIF dedicates itself to investing in the people of Scotland, their ingenuity, resourcefulness and talents, to take our country to Independence.
Scottish Sovereignty Research Group (SSRG) is a think tank, a group that brings Scottish constitutional academics and experts from around the world to research the big questions that an independent Scotland needs answers and policies for in an independent Scotland. They work closely with Salvo and hold conferences once a year.

Resources and history
Angry Pict - The line of trouble Scotland was never a willing partner in empire. The Union was imposed. Our history has been distorted to justify it. The Line of Struggle uncovers the truth — from Culloden to colonialism, from resistance to renewal. Each article is sourced, strategic, and written to arm Scots with the historical clarity needed for liberation. We expose:
Suppressed sovereignty
Economic extraction
Cultural trauma
Legal foundations for decolonisation
This isn’t nostalgia. It’s evidence. And it’s time to act on it.
Random Scottish History I want to help combat the dearth of knowledge Scots at home and abroad have of their own history as it’s a complaint I’ve heard often for Scotland’s residents who are fully briefed on British history as it pertains to the Royal lineage but how many Scots know we had 3 King Alexanders or Constantines? As far as the source material is concerned, I’m a collector of publications ranging from 1733-1900 and it’s from these I get my info. Every book is referenced both to do it properly and so the individual quotes can be found easily later for anyone wanting to know more.
Scottish Independence Library The Scottish Independence Library is run by volunteers who support Scotland’s right to self-determination. The library is a collection of resources related to Scottish independence, gathered from full range of movement and academic sources. The purpose of the library is to provide a resource from which audiences can learn and answer questions related to Scotland’s right to self-determination. We want the library to be valued as an authoritative, easy to use, reliable and accessible source of information useful to both the independence supporters the indy curious and the undecideds.

Grousebeater Extensive experience in the arts in Scotland, England, and abroad, particularly the USA, has given me a perspective of Scotland’s political and social deficiencies. And they are legion. Scotland is too long a colonised country. It suffers from every malady known to Indigenous People who are oppressed.

I am still Head of Strategic Development at Common Weal and as committed to the work we’re doing there as I’ve always been.
