LIBERATION SCOTLAND, supported by SALVO and the law firm Justice pour Tous Internationale, is attempting to lay the groundwork for their official bid to apply to the United Nations to have Scotland recognised as a “non-self governing territory” They will take a petition today (Wednesday) 17 September, to the international body in Geneva, to have Scotland recognised as a “non-self governing territory” similar to Bermuda, the British Virgin Islands.
BELIEVE IN SCOTLAND I-Switch campaign for its National Day of Action this weekend (Saturday) 20 September is asking every Yes group across Scotland to get out leafleting in their local area, on the same day. Contact your local Yes group for leaflets, or be visible in other ways. Street stalls, litter pick, wearing Yes badges or T-shirts or flags on bridges - any activity that gets your group out and seen. SCOTTISH CURRENCY GROUP (SCG) are holding their annual conference on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26 October in the Carnegie Conference Centre in Dunfermline. The conference will look at the ‘Why’ of Independence, which they argue is at least as important as the ‘How’. Party leaders and others in the Independence Movement have been invited to share their ‘Vision for Independence’ with a focus on the economics. The SCG view having our own currency and full control of our monetary and fiscal policies to be crucial to achieving those visions. INDEPENDENCE FORUM SCOTLAND (IFS) is holding its third National Convention in Glasgow, at Adelaide Place on Saturday 8 November. The day kicks off with Scotland's Makar, Pàdraig MacAoidh on 'What it's like to be a Scot Today', followed by Jim Osborne, Scottish Currency Group on Pension Provision in Scotland.
